On Friday, December 7th, Blackweekly.com's Meet Me At... and First Fridays Los Angeles' Exclusive Mary J Blige New Album Pre-Review Party took place at the fabulous Royale on Wilshire. I arrived at the event early to place (2) MJB 3x3 custom pop boards, place postcards on the tables of the dining/VIP area, and flyers regarding MJB listening event at Kimble Hair Studio. Around 200+ guests enjoyed an evening of mixing, mingling, and music featuring MJB “Just Fine” CD give-aways, dancing, while MJB dvd video reel played. What’s interesting about this event is that the after-hour social mixer (from 5pm to 9pm) reaches the middle to upper class African_American male/female (age 35 to 55); however the party from 9pm-until skews a little younger with ages ranging from 25 to 45. The female/male ratio was about 75/25. MJB tracks that did receive the best response throughout the night include “Just Fine,” “Shakedown,” and “Work That.” Thanks to Jaime Gopez,Mikelle Schwartz and Fleace Weaver for helping make this event a success J **unfortunately, venue was too dark..pictures did not show up clear.
On Monday, December 10th, First Friday attendees, Kimberly Kimble VIP clients, and my retail/lifestyle accounts came out to enjoy wine, NUVO (this is the next BIG thing), refreshments, and FREE hair consultations at Kimberly Kimble’s newly remodeled hair salon “KIMBLE HAIR STUDIO” located at 1106 N. La Cienega Blvd. in West Hollywood.
(2) MJB 3x3 custom pop boards were placed in the hair studio (one positioned outside in front of the studio/the other one was placed inside, MJB postcards were placed throughout the hair studio, and MJB posters were placed inside the Kimble “gift bags” distributed by the Kimble staff. Around 75 plus VIP clients, and tastemakers enjoyed the sounds of MJB’s new cd “Growing Pains.” Celebrities such as Slim Thug, Idalis DeLeon (actress from Women Thou Art Loose), MJB’s makeup artist, Flex Alexander (actor of One on One show) and his wife Shanice Wilson (early 90’s r&b star) all stopped by to show Miss Kimble and MJB some love….it truly was a wonderful and inspiring event. Here’s why…Kimberly Kimble is the most noted black celebrity stylist out right now, and her newly remodeled studio..reflects just that.
The sleek and contemporary studio has all the air of luxury with it’s black , white, and silver décor. As you walk behind the “Kimble Hair Studio” sign you are greeted by salon chairs, a HUGE projector (that played MJB video reel continuously throughout the night) and the cutest thing ever is that their our mini flat screens actually built into the mirrors adjacent to each salon chair….sweet!!! Plus, MJB modeling different hairstyles that Kimberly created also have been placed in the reception area for her customers to view.
As “Growing Pains” played throughout the 3 hour VIP soiree..positive feedback on “Just Fine,” “Shakedown,” “Work That,” “Roses,” “Grown Folks…” wow, let’s just say the whole cd got RAVE REVIEWS!! This is the FIRST time Kimberly Kimble has done a listening event at her salon and she seemed VERY PLEASED by the outcome. She loves MJB, and basically is willing to do anything to help promote her new cd. She is already in discussion with her phone company to see if MJB tracks can play as customers call her hair studio, and if there is a way the label will allow her to stream MJB music on her website www.kimblehaircare.com she is willing to do that also. It was really nice to cater to the upper-class African-American crowd..sometimes they are often forgotten, and by the success of this event….THIS TARGET MARKET will come out! :)

WISIN & YANDEL, "LOS EXTRATERRESTRES" Film Music Video Alongside Franco De Vita
San Juan, PR, December 4, 2007- Wisin & Yandel and Franco De Vita shook up La Perla in Old San Juan during the filming for the video of "Dónde Está El Amor?", new song off their chart topping album 'Los Extraterrestres' -the album released on November 6th and currently sits on the Top spots of Billboard Charts.
The video sets out to capture world issues due to poverty using visuals from the many of the barrios in Old San Juan. The plot takes the viewer on a journey through the eyes of an eight-year-old child and his melancholic walk through the streets of city while trying to comprehend his plight and that of his family for something to eat. Wisin & Yandel's uncompromising passion alongside Franco De Vita's unique sensibility fills the video with a similar feeling to that of the Brazilian movie "City Of God", successfully provoking the audience to think and act upon global social injustice.
More than one hundred people participated in the filming of the Jessy Terrero directed video, the same director of the duo's previous video for the single "Sexy Movimiento."
"We are incredibly moved by this project we have undertaken with Franco, a man we greatly admire and respect" expressed Wisin during the video shoot.
Yandel noted "It is an honor for us to share this moment with Franco de Vita, a musical icon and we hope to use this video to help end all disharmonies between brothers. I think this song is our greatest contribution to the cause."

Hailed in a recent Miami Herald profile as ‘head of one of the last-standing triple crown crews,’ Cash Money founder/mogul/award winning rapper Birdman (aka Baby) is about to add to his multi-platinum hit-making legacy once again with his much anticipated third solo album – 5 Stunna. WEEZER’s frontman & songwriter/visionary Rivers Cuomo releases a very special album of home demos entitled Alone: The Home Recordings Of Rivers Cuomo. “Buddy Holly” became a Weezer song, while numerous others remained in his personal vault. The collection of demos, covers, and rare tracks is a true treasure chest for Weezer fans.

Jon McLaughlin on the Enchanted soundtrack!
When you go to see the new Disney movie Enchanted this week with your family, keep your eyes peeled for Island recording artist Jon McLaughlin as he performs the song "So Close" in the movie! This past weekend, he sang the tune at the star-studded Hollywood premiere for the film and stole the spotlight from all the celebrities. American Music Awards 2007
There were some great moments at this year's award show. Lots of Universal artists came out winners, but the highlights were definitely the performances.
Fergie, Will.I.Am, and Nicole Scherzinger opened up the show with some HOT performances of their hit songs... Fergalicious, Clumsy, Big Girls Don't Cry, Heartbreaker, and Baby Love.
Host Jimmy Kimmel got the crowd laughing showing his dance skills with guest Soulja Boy and his song Crank That. Rascal Flatts won an award and also performed their newest single Take Me There. Even with a small tumble the Jonas Brothers rocked the stage at the AMAs performing the song SOS. Maroon 5 slowed things down a bit with a ballad and their newest single Won't Go Home Without You. Rihanna was joined on stage by a full string section and fellow Def Jam labelmate Ne-Yo for a performance of Hate That I Love You. Country group Sugarland surprisingly did not perform a song from Enjoy The Ride but did a country rendition of Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" where she joined them for the second half of the song. After an introduction from Snoop Dogg, Mary J Blige gave a hot hot hot performance of Just Fine. Verve artist Queen Latifah performed "I Know Where I've Been" off her new album Trav'llin' Light.

OneRepublic's "Dreaming Out Loud" Available Everywhere November 20th!
The latest signing to Timbaland's Mosley Music Group, OneRepublic, release their debut album Dreaming Out Loud this Tuesday, November 20th. Angels & Airwaves Live at Blingfest
Bling Fest, Active’s Annual Best Trick Contest and Music Festival, is just around the corner and everyone is going to need to mark their calendars for the biggest and best Bling Fest yet! Saturday, November 17th will go down in history! The Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter will once again be the home to Bling Fest 2007 as well as The Second Annual Active Am on Sunday, November 18th.This year Active is giving away over $20,000 in cash and prizes and over a hundred of the best professional and amateur skaters in the world will be in the house to claim the cash. Hundred Dollar Hammers will once again be given out for any tricks that the judges feel are worthy of a Benjamin. And we are sure that the guys skating in the event this year will be bringing the heat!
This year Chad Muska and Jamey Stone will be on the mics to keep the crowd hyped and Angels & Airwaves will be the headling band on the Hurley Stage!
