CARLY SIMON TAKES LA BY STORM!!!

EVENT RECAP
CARLY SIMON IN-STORE – LOS ANGELES

On Saturday May 10th, Carly Simon graced the city of LA with a rare and intimate performance and CD signing at Borders Westwood. Both charming and personable, Carly showed everyone in attendance why she has remained a star for over 30 years.

At the event, Carly performed several songs off her new hit CD as well as several classics. Of all the songs played, the best reactions were for the new song “Island” and the classic Carly standard “You’re So Vain”. Carly performed for over a half an hour, dazzling the audience with her touching lyrics and warm stage presence. Before singing the new song, “Hold Out Your Heart”, Carly told the audience how this is the perfect song for a Mother to give her child for Mother’s Day “even though the gift giving is normally supposed to go the other way around!” The audience laughed along with Carly, then hung onto to her every word as she sang about the struggles of being a mother to adventurous children making their way in the world. This song was a perfect tribute to Motherhood, made all the more powerful by the fact that Carly’s performance took place the day before Mother’s Day.

At the end of her set, Carly was presented with a beautiful bouquet of roses from Concord Records. Carly then sat down at her signing table, where all of the mothers in attendance were also given a long stem rose as they came up to meet their hero. Carly graciously signed for over 150 fans, some of which had traveled from as far away as Oregon just to meet her! Both kind and personable, Carly made a lasting impression on all of her dedicated fans.
